Seoul, South Korea (Sports Network) - Grace Park underwent successful arthroscopic hip surgery this week and will miss up to four months of action on the LPGA Tour.
“It was a very difficult decision to have the surgery and miss time, but this was the only way to get back to being healthy and strong,” Park said in a statement. “Doctors have given me a very positive prognosis for recovery and I hope to be back playing by the end of August if all goes according to plan.” Park has experienced problems with her lower back and hip through much of the last two seasons. Park has six career victories on the LPGA Tour, but none since the 2004 CJ Nine Bridges Classic Presented by Sports Today. Earlier that year, she won her only major title at the Kraft Nabisco Championship. In 2009, Park played four events, but withdrew from the J Golf Phoenix LPGA International. She missed the cut at the Kraft Nabisco Championship. Park tied for 32nd at the SBS Open at Turtle Bay and shared 12th at the MasterCard Classic.
